Prof. Yur-Ren Kuo is the Professor and Chief at Division of Plastic Surgery, and Vice-chairman of Department of Surgery, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Taiwan since 2015. Dr. Kuo has met full training as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon staff at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan from 1997 to 2015. He got PhD degree at Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, Chang Gung Medical College in 2003. He has served as a post-doc Research Associate position in the University of Pittsburgh, PA (2004-2005). In 2009-2015, he has appointed as a Chairman of Department of Surgery in Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. On 2010, his academic position was the Full Professor of Chang Gung University, College of Medicine and Adjunctive Professor of Department of Biological Sciences, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan.

Prof. Kuo has been honored with numerous awards, orations, professorship, and honorary appointments. He has been selected as “International Guest Scholar” awarded by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) in 2003. This is the first surgeon trained in Taiwan to get this honor since past 40 years funding the Awards. He was conferred a “Godina Lecture Award” sponsored by American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM) in 2009 to travelling and share his expertise in the world well-renown Medical Center. He appointed as “Young Investigator Award” of American Transplant Congress (ATC), USA in 2011, and “Visiting Professorship Award” appointed by Association for Academic Surgery (AAS), USA in 2014. He also has been invited as Visiting Professorship in numerous famous medical centers in the world.

Prof. Kuo is active in his prestigious academic and professional career. Dr. Kuo is an expert focused on microsurgical reconstruction for head neck and extremity defects, He also as a true physician scientist devoted in stem cells regenerative medicine, transplant immunology, reconstructive microsurgery, wound healing, and keloids scar. He has more than 140 innovative clinical and numerous basic research papers published in the leading peer-reviewed journals.
